Having a pet in Korea is a little different than at home. At home, big dogs are popular and it's common for families to have more than one. In fact, my family has 2 dogs- 3 if you count my rabbit that thinks he's a dog. The newest addition is King Louie- my toy poodle. But beware, he is one terrifying pooch. Or so most Koreans think...
The King is one happy camper when we go on our daily walk. He doesn't bark or jump, he is only focused on getting to the park and chasing birds. People love to whistle at Louie and call him over, but when he goes within inches of them they start shrieking and screaming. They actually look surprised that a puppy would come to them when they bend down to the ground and clap their hands. It's like they're seeing Godzilla... at less than 8 lb., it's hilarious that Louie can make grown men run screaming.
Beware...
